Whether you are a NYX newbie or their number one fan, here’s 5 must have NYX products.
Since NYX made its way in to UK drugstores (hooray!), my make up bag has seriously been bombarded with their products – anyone would think I’m their ambassador. I would always hear about NYX products in YouTube tutorials but being a US based brand they were pretty hard to get hold of. Now that we share the pleasure of being able to access near enough all of their fabulous products, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite NYX must haves.
NYX PORE FILLER, £11
This primer is a perfect pre-foundation base and great dupe for the Benefit ‘Porefessional’ primer. It aims to create a satiny, smooth finish and minimise pores, and I can vouch that it does just that. The consistency is a bit strange, instead of being clear and silicone like, it comes out in orange coloured lumps, but once you smooth it over the face the skin feels so soft and make up applies so easily on top.
NYX MINERAL FOUNDATION STICK, £10.50
Although foundation sticks remind me of Year 8 days, after seeing the likes of Kylie Jenner using them rather than liquid foundation, I was intrigued to try one out. Luckily, my bestie read my mind and copped me this mineral foundation stick for my birthday and I can say I was really impressed. It’s so easy to apply to the face, the formula is really creamy, making it really easy to blend out and it feels really light on the face. This is a great alternative and a good everyday foundation for light-medium coverage. You could even grab a darker colour and use it to contour.
NYX SCULPT AND HIGHLIGHT FACE DUO, £9.00
This is an amazing product if you’re just learning how to contour and it’s also a great base for under a powder contour. It’s available in six different shades, but me being the pale girl I am opted for the lightest shade. Both the contour and highlight are creamy and super easy to blend out to define shape and lighten dark spots and I would say that it’s also build-able if you want to go for a more dramatic contour look.
NYX HD FINISHING POWDER, £8.00
I’m a bit wary of these kind of powders just because I want to try and avoid any flashback failures. This powder is really lightweight and does a great job at smoothing out lines, pores and creases and making the face look really matte. And no flashback!
NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM, £5.50
It took me a while to jump on the matte lip craze – dry, cracked lips aren’t really my thing and I have always been a gloss girl. I bought the NYX matte lip cream in the shade Rome, decided to give it a go, fell in love and bought about four other colours. I love how creamy this lipstick is, it dries matte but doesn’t dry out the lips and it literally lasts the whole day. Plus it smells amaaaazing.
